Grant Application Instructions

The Laura and Lorenz Reibling Family Foundation supports research, publications and exhibition projects that make substantive contributions to the fields of education, human rights, religious freedom, the Holocaust, genocide, or medical research.

Application Submission Date. The Foundation has no set application deadline.

Eligibility.
Applicants may be researchers, educators, or artists who are working on independent, exploratory, or demonstration projects. Applications may also be submitted through an affiliated education or nonprofit organization; however, institution overhead is not funded.

Available Funds. Grant awards typically range between $3,000 and $30,000.

Funding Priority. In keeping with the goal, “small things that make a big difference,” the Foundation looks for innovative projects that address important issues, particularly relevant to underserved or understudied populations, and that have potential implications across cultures and borders. Applicant(s) must have the knowledge, expertise, and ability to satisfactorily complete the proposed project.

Application. The request for funds should include the following information:

1. Name of the project director or principal investigator, contact information.

2. A 200-word summary statement.

3. A brief description of
a) the need for the project,
b) the objectives,
c) approach or methodology,
d) expected outcome(s) or dissemination plan,
e) timeline,
f) budget, and
g) professional background of project director/investigator(s).

Award Notification. Applicants will be notified of the Foundation decision between 30 to 45 days after the application. If the application is approved, the awarded will be informed about when funds will be available.

Assurance of Compliance. Award recipients are expected to comply with all policies governing the conduct of the project including, but not limited to, human subjects, hazardous materials, and export controls. Awardees are responsible for assuring that the project complies with all legal and relevant policies. As grantor, the Foundation is not liable for injury or property damage occurring in the administration of the funded project. All applicants are subject to audit.

Final Report. The Foundation requests a summary report of the project outcome, due one year after the initial receipt of funds.
